5 Groom’s Cakes for the March Madness Obsessed

I am so excited for this unique groom’s  cake post! I am double excited to see my alma mater represented. Go Orange!

It’s March Madness time and that means we’re going to be seeing plenty of college school spirit. One way to truly show off your school pride? A college mascot groom’s cake. I pulled together a few of my favorites — all from schools that made it into this year’s NCAA basketball tournament. (I went to Syracuse so of course had to represent the Big East with a cake for the Orange!)

Villanova Wild Cats Groom’s Cake

Whipped Bakeshop

The Wild Cats didn’t make the NCAA last year so that means if you’re a fan you have a reason to really show pride. This cake includes not only the team mascot but write-on flags so you can include your wedding date and any other spirited messages.

University of Colorado Buffalo Groom’s Cake

If your mascot is as cool as Ralphie the Buffalo you can make an awesome mascot-shaped cake like this one to show your school pride.

University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Groom’s Cake

The Tar Heels are in the running for the Final Four this year if they can get past some tougher opponents like Villanova and Kansas. Either way, we love this light blue and white sheet cake for alum and fans.

Kansas University Jay Hawks Groom’s (Cup)Cake

We have a few KU Jay Hawk’s fans in our office (Hint hint: Our lovely site director is one!) so had to represent the number one seed by including this cute cupcake with the KU mascot!

Syracuse University Orange Groom’s Cake

I’d totally be cheering my groom on to pick an Orange SU groom’s cake– if he went there, that is!

  1. I must thank you for the efforts you have put in penning
this site. I am hoping to check out the same high-grade blog
posts from you later on as well. In truth, your creative writing abilities has encouraged me
to get my own, personal blog now ;)

    • Thank you for the kind words! We work hard to make all of our posts fun, helpful and thoughtful. We should have more up this fall/winter from our summer weddings.
